BC Graduate Success Stories


Jumanee Williams received his B.A. in 2001 and his M.A. in Political Science in 2005 from Brooklyn College.  In 2009, Williams ran for New York City Council's 45th District, and was elected to the Council after a deciding victory of Councilmember Kendall Stewart. Jumanee Williams now represnts the 45th Council District, which includes Flatbush, East Flatbush, Flatlands, and Canarsie in Brooklyn. This Democratic politician has focused his work on issues such as affordable housing and tenants rights. A first generation Brooklynite, and an Alumn of Brooklyn College, Jumanee Williams continues to promote civic engagement and community empowerment to create longlasting changes in Brooklyn's communities.

 

 



Brittany Gray received her M.A. in Political Science with a concentration in Urban Policy and Administration from Brooklyn College in 2011. Since graduating, Brittany Gray has been accepted into The Univerity of New Orleans' Poltiical Science PHD Porgram, with a concentration in Minority Politics and Urban Policy. 

 

 



Steven King. After graduating Brooklyn College with his M.A. in Political Science, Steven King is now studying Urban Planning at University College Dublin's School of Geogrpahy, Planning, and Enviornmental Policy. For his dissertation, Steven King will be focusing on social housing issues in an international context. King is focusing on social housing provided by private markets in hopes to improve housing for low income workers in various urban settings. 

 

 



Trevor Cooper Since graduating Brooklyn College with an M.A. in Political Science, Trevor Cooper has enrolled into the full-time law program at Rutgers University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey. In addition, Trevor Cooper was selected to work this summer as an Intern at Kings Country District Attorney's Office.
